ESB Aghada Station consists of a 450 MW Alstom single shaft combined cycle gas turbine and 3 x 90 MW Alstom dual fuel open cycle gas turbines. The Maintenance Team Leaders at Aghada Power Station are an integral part of the management team with responsibility for the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance of the generating plant to help ensure that Aghada operates to strict efficiency, availability, environmental and commercial standards.  

 

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the performance of the site general services team, managing the execution of service contracts with external vendors and contract companies, work closely with the electrical / instrumentation and mechanical maintenance teams and other such duties as assigned from time to time by the Maintenance Manager. 

  

  

Key Responsibilities 

  

Duties of the role includes but may not be limited to: 

 

  • Ensure safety of staff and contractors through compliance with safety systems, including permits to work, setting to work and risk assessments. 
  • Prioritise, schedule and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure business continuity.  
  • Procurement of key services and components 
  • Supervise site general services team and manage all people related issues within the team. 
  • Supervise and Manage Contractors / Contracts 
  • Drive and embed the Operations and Maintenance model in Aghada 

 

 

Experience and Qualifications   

 

Essential 

 

  • Experience and technical knowledge of power station maintenance or maintenance practices in similar heavy process industry 
  • Strong safety focus and knowledge of the setting people to work safely 
  • Ability to lead safety culture. 
  • Team building and leadership qualities with a track record in supervising personnel. 
  • Experience in the operation of Work Management Systems and Contractor Management 
  • Working knowledge of PC’s and computerised control systems 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills 
  • A craft qualification in the Instrumentation, Electrical or equivalent experience.

   

Desirable 

 

  • Knowledge of SAP and purchasing system 
  • Knowledge of Safe Systems of work, Permitting and Isolating processes. 
  • Project Management experience 
  • Safety Qualification 
  • Project Management Qualification 

All successful candidates will be required to engage in a training programme and must attain and demonstrate the full range of competencies within two years from their start date. These competencies will be retained through engagement in ongoing personal development plan and mandating process.

Salary  

 

€55,500 - €65,300 per annum.
