Position Description

Dublin Stations currently comprises of Dublin Bay Power, Poolbeg and North Wall generation stations. The Maintenance Electrical / Control and Instrumentation (E/C&I) Team Leader will be an integral part of the maintenance team with responsibility for the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance and troubleshooting of the generating plant and equipment to help ensure that Dublin Stations operates to strict efficiency, availability, environmental and commercial standards. 

The successful candidate will work with a wide variety of electrical equipment and control and instrumentation equipment. This is an opportunity for ambitious, high performing person to work in a dynamic, rewarding and achievement focussed environment.

They will be required to work autonomously, be flexible and be a self-starter with the ability to provide support, on a full or part time basis, to other teams and projects as required by station management. They will be a team player with good problem solving skills. They should be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and drive innovation and improvements as required, and to communicate and relate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation.

The successful candidate will be required on occasions to have flexible working hours and be available for callouts.

 

Key Responsibilities  

Duties of the role includes but may not be limited to:  

  • Ensure safety of staff and contractors through compliance with safety systems, including permits to work, setting to work and risk assessments. Carry out authorised roles under the safety rules
  • Prioritise, schedule and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure business continuity
  • Procurement of key services and components
  • Supervise/build and develop maintenance EC&I Team and manage all people related issues within the team or cross functional teams
  • Supervise and Manage Contractors / Contracts
  • Support of station projects, improvement areas, including LTAP process, process safety workstreams, stores management, etc
  • Perform hands on planned and reactive electrical and C&I maintenance activities in accordance with site policies and procedures
  • All aspects of hands-on electrical fault finding, testing and repairs in a power generation work environment
  • Installation, troubleshooting, repair and commissioning of plant equipment 
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS
  • Preparation and review of task specific Method statements and Risk Assessments
  • The successful candidate will be required on occasions to have flexible working hours and be available for callouts

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience  

The successful candidate will be self-motivated and required to work as part of a close team in a Generating Station environment, interacting effectively with other station staff and contractors as necessary.  

Essential   

  • Strong safety focus and ability to lead safety culture
  • Recent 5-10 years Thermal, Hydro, renewable generation plant or equivalent industrial hands-on Electrical/Control & Instrumentation systems maintenance experience
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of HV/MV/LV electrical systems and/or C&I systems
  • An understanding of heavy electrical components such transformers, generators, switchgears, motorised valves, motors
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and P&IDs
  • Experience and technical knowledge of power station electrical maintenance procedures or electrical maintenance practices in similar heavy process industry
  • Experience with instrumentation calibration and electrical test equipment
  • Full B driving licence
  • Good IT skills. Applicants must have some knowledge in the use of computer systems

 

Qualifications  

Essential 

  • FAS / SOLAS / Senior Trade electrical craft qualification or equivalent

This position will be based in Dublin Stations

Salary

€57,750 - €67,950
