Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage €600m worth of Long Term Service Agreements (LTSA) / Customer Service Agreements (CSA) for Aghada, Carrington, Coolkeeragh and Dublin Bay Power CCGT stations. This includes renegotiation of contract terms, dispute reconciliation, commercial close out of outages, warranty settlements, claims of contractor negligence, termination of contracts, purchases of high value power plant components and upgrades, service contracts and multi-party negotiations.  

  • Build and manage network of internal contacts (in stations, finance, EMP, Legal etc.) necessary for the management of LTSAs / CSAs

  • Maintain relationships with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representatives

  • Keep up to date with developments in the power industry including Safety notices, OEM R+D and upgrades, attend conferences and follow the industry press.

  • Work with E&MP to manage the maintenance and upkeep of closed power stations sites. Tender and manage contractors and arrange permitting for all necessary works  

  • Create a phased plan for the demolition of older station assets, clearing sites for future development in line with Generation and Trading’s strategy. 

  • Act as project director for large and complex thermal power station demolition projects. Manage asbestos surveying, relinquishing of IPPC licence (where appropriate), obtaining planning and environmental consents, procurement of demolition contractor and completion of works on site. 

  • Work on strategic plan for the use or divestment of all existing GT property.   

  • Work with E&MP Group Property to manage land under the control of Generation & Trading, including lands associated with hydro schemes – granting of leases, licenses and approving disposals and acquisitions

  • Develop a forestry management strategy for commercial forestry owned by Generation and Trading.

  • Stakeholder Management of internal and external stakeholders.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

 

Essential 

 

  • 7 years relevant experience.  

  • Transaction experience including working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, managing advisors, influencing others and managing external / internal stakeholders 

  • Experience in negotiating commercial contracts 

  • Ability to formulate a commercialisation strategy for assets

  • Working knowledge of legal and contractual issues related to large infrastructure projects. 

  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills 

  • Ability to prioritise work effectively in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments

  • Ability to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers and management

 

 

Qualifications 

 

Essential 

 

  • A primary Engineering, Science, Surveying degree or equivalent or equivalent experience is required. 

 

Desirable 

 

  • Project management qualification and/or other business management qualifications that may compliment the essential/desirable knowledge, skills and experience listed above. 

 

 

Location 

 

This position is based in ESB Head Office, Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin. Travel as required to business locations outside Head Office and some overseas travel will be required as part of the role.

Reporting to 

 

The successful candidate will report to the G&T Asset Management Major Contracts Manager.

Salary

 

€66,800 - €78,600
