Position Description

 

Applications are invited for positions of Maintenance Team Leaders, Dublin Stations. Dublin Stations currently comprise of Poolbeg and Dublin Bay Power power plants.

 

The successful candidate will be a team player and self-starter with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and manage, develop and motivate team members. They will also have a demonstrable ability to communicate and relate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation.

 

The successful candidates will be responsible for leading and managing the performance of the maintenance teams and other such duties as assigned. This is an opportunity for an ambitious, high-performing candidate to take on a key leadership role within the Dublin Stations.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Duties of the role includes but may not be limited to:

 

  • Ensure safety of staff and contractors through compliance with safety systems, including permits to work, setting to work and risk assessments. Carry out authorised roles under the safety rules.
  • Prioritise, schedule and coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure business continuity. 
  • Procurement of key services and components
  • Supervise maintenance team and manage all people related issues within the team or cross functional teams.
  • Supervise and Manage Contractors / Contracts
  • Support of station projects, improvement areas, including LTAP process, process safety workstreams, stores management, etc
  • Liaise with other departments and ESB head office specialists as required, and support compliance with corporate and other relevant standards.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential

 

  • Strong safety focus and knowledge of the setting people to work safely
  • Ability to lead safety culture
  • Experience and technical knowledge of power station maintenance or a maintenance practices in similar heavy process industry
  • Team building and leadership qualities with a track record in supervising personnel
  • Experience in the operation of Work Management Systems and Contractor Management

 

Desirable

 

  • Knowledge of SAP and purchasing system
  • Knowledge of Safe Systems of work, Permitting and Isolating process
  • Project Management experience

 

 

Qualifications

 

Essential

 

  • A craft qualification or competence in an instrumentation, electrical or mechanical field, or equivalent relevant work experience

 

Desirable

 

  • Safety Qualification
  • Project Management Qualification

 

All successful candidates will be required to engage in a training programme and must attain and demonstrate the full range of competencies within two years from their start date. These competencies will be retained through engagement in ongoing personal development plan and mandating process.

Salary

 

€55,500 - €65,400
