Mechanical Maintenance Fitter
Position Description
Dublin Stations currently comprises of Dublin Bay Power, Poolbeg and North Wall generation stations. The Mechanical Maintenance Fitter will be an integral part of the maintenance team with responsibility for the safe, reliable and efficient maintenance and troubleshooting of the generating plant and equipment to help ensure that Dublin Stations operates to strict efficiency, availability, environmental and commercial standards.
The successful candidate will work with a wide variety of mechanical equipment and processes from valves up to and including large rotating equipment.
They will be required to work autonomously, be flexible and be a self-starter with the ability to provide support, on a full or part time basis, to other teams and projects as required by station management. The successful candidate will be required on occasions to have flexible working hours and be available for callouts.
Key Responsibilities
Duties of the role includes but may not be limited to:
- Perform all aspects of hands-on planned and reactive mechanical maintenance fitting activities in a heavy mechanical work environment, in accordance with site policies and procedures.
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records using the CMMS.
- Preparation and review of task specific Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
- Carry out authorized roles under the safety rules as required (Safe Systems of Work).
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate will be self-motivated and required to work as part of a close team in a Generating Station environment, interacting effectively with other station staff and contractors as necessary.
Essential
- Recent 2-5 years Thermal, Hydro, or renewable generation plant hands-on mechanical maintenance experience or equivalent.
- FAS / SOLAS / Senior Trade qualification in mechanical fitting or equivalent
- Recent experience working on valves, pumps, gearboxes, installation and removal of heavy plant equipment
- Experience and technical knowledge of power station mechanical maintenance procedures or mechanical maintenance practices in similar heavy process industry.
- Ability to follow maintenance procedures.
- Strong safety culture and ability to work in a team environment.
- Full B driving licence.
- Good IT skills. Applicants must have knowledge in the use of computer systems.
Desirable
- Experience and Certification in the use of lifting / slinging equipment and manual handling.
- Experience in machining, welding, and the use of workshop equipment.
- Familiarity with safety permitting systems.
- Plant Staff and/or Contractor supervision experience or equivalent.
Location
This position will be based in ESB Dublin Stations, Pigeon House Road, Ringsend, D04 Y5N2. Full time attendance at Dublin Stations throughout the working week would be required.

Salary
€43,250 - €48,750
