Position Description
Dublin Stations consists of Poolbeg, Dublin Bay Power and North Wall generating stations and are managed, maintained and operated to strict efficiency and availability standards in a competitive commercial market. The station is part of the Generating and Trading division of the ESB and is vital to the national electricity network.

Key Responsibilities
Duties of the role include, but may not be limited to:
- Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of all plants, as well as the safety of all personnel on site.
- Carrying out day-to-day activities such as monitoring, assessing, testing, and operating plant equipment.
- Operation and maintenance of the power plant in line with strict safety, environmental, commercial, and chemical requirements.
- Compliance with safety and environmental obligations.
- Supporting the shift operations team in day-to-day activities.
- Maintaining a shift operations record and submitting reports as required by the Shift Team Leader and/or Operations Manager.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of procedures and systems for plant operations, testing and related activities.
- Involvement in initial front-line maintenance/troubleshooting and outage maintenance as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Process/Operations experience.
- Ability to analyse process and control information to appropriately respond to plant operational conditions.
- Flexibility and availability to provide shift cover when required.
Desirable
- Experience of power station operations or a similar heavy process industry.
- A good working knowledge of health and safety and environmental legislation and standards.
- Contractor support / supervision.
- Relevant CSCS tickets and qualifications.
- Awareness of Safe System of Work.
- Experience using Maintenance/Operations Management Systems.
Qualifications
Essential
- A craft qualification or equivalent in an Instrumentation, Electrical or Mechanical field or applicable experience in a similar role/industry.
All successful candidates will be required to engage in a training programme and must attain and demonstrate the full range of competencies within two years from their start date. These competencies will be retained through engagement in ongoing personal development plan and mandating process.
Location
This position will be based in Dublin Stations.
Reporting to
Shift Team Leader, Dublin Stations or person deputising as nominated.

Salary
€43,250 - €48,750.
Shift work is a feature of this role. A shift bonus of 33.33% will be added on top of the base salary, when working on a shift pattern.
