Position Description 

Applications are invited for the positions of Hydro Team Member, Relief Turbine Attendant in Turlough Hill Station. As a member of the operations team in Turlough Hill, the successful candidate will be required to carry out relief shift duties within the Turbine Attendant category and will be responsible for assisting with the operation and monitoring of plant and equipment in Turlough Hill.

 

The Hydro Team Member, Relief Turbine Attendant will be required to work across all functional areas within the station including maintenance, operations control room, technical services, civil, supervision and contractor management.  The successful candidate will be required to work to the level of their competence to carry out their duties. They will be required to work autonomously, be flexible and be a self-starter, providing provide support to other teams and projects as required.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with others is required.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Operation, monitoring and understanding of all main and auxiliary plant
  • Assisting Shift Manager with Control room operation, as required, including manning the HCC for short durations in Shift Manager absences (meetings, POI’s, etc.)
  • Proper understanding of plant indications and displays with periodic recording of plant data and events in log book
  • Assisting Shift Manager with Plant Isolation and testing / operation of plant 
  • Working knowledge of relevant Safety Procedures
  • Supporting station meeting schedule (OHSAS, EMG, Safety Committee etc) and supporting station safety initiatives (Audits etc) 
  • Delivery of work across all areas of the station, including maintenance, operations control room, civil, technical and support functions. 

 

Experience and Qualifications 

The successful candidate will have an ability to learn about, understand & operate plant and to work as part of a close team to ensure the safe delivery of station performance as required. Suitable training will be provided to the successful candidate.

Essential

  • Experience in industrial or construction industry

 Desirable

  • Process/Operations experience.
  • A good working knowledge of health and safety, and environmental standards. Awareness of Safe System of Work.

 

Location

This position will be based in Turlough Hill Station, Co. Wicklow

 

Reporting To

Reporting to the Shift Manager, Turlough Hill Generating Station.

Salary

€32,450 - €38,800
