Position Description

 

Coolkeeragh ESB Ltd is a 400 MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power station in N. Ireland.

 

The Stations Finance Officer’s role is to provide day to day support for the administrative and accounting functions. They are a key member of the management team responsible for finance and administration.

 

They are responsible for the management and production of financial information to satisfy the agreed contractual obligations and commercial targets. They are also responsible to ensure Administration practises are developed to promote goodwill within the business and that they comply with corporate and local government regulations.

They will be a team player and self-starter with a demonstrable ability to communicate and relate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Support and encourage a work environment fitting to ESB’s Core Values.
  • Maintain personal safety mandatory training requirements.
  • Preparation of management reports, financial reporting, budgets and forecasts.
  • Provide timely information to the management team to aid decision-making.
  • Oversee procurement, purchasing and stock control.
  • Management of payroll services on site.
  • Supervise the Finance and Administration Department.
  • Management of quality systems and IIP.
  • Be point of contact for and report into central finance functions.
  • Liaise with other departments as required or directed.
  • Other finance or administration duties or projects as requested.

 

Desirable Qualifications

 

  • Recently qualified or part qualified accountant.

 

 

Essential Experience

 

  • Minimum 3 year’s experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to act independently and objectively.
  • Evidence of delivering tangible business results

 

Desirable Experience

 

  • Knowledge of working with SAP.

 

 

Location

 

Coolkeeragh ESB Power Station, Maydown.

 

 

Reporting to

 

Plant Manager, Coolkeeragh Power Station, with significant interaction with central finance functions.
