Position Description

 

Coolkeeragh Power Station comprises CCGT and OCGT plants in the Maydown, N. Ireland.

Coolkeeragh Power Station is managed, maintained and operated to strict efficiency and availability standards in a competitive commercial market. Coolkeeragh Power Station operates under the Generation and Trading division of ESB.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader will be a team player and self-starter with the ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and manage, develop and motivate team members. Have a demonstrable ability to communicate and relate effectively with staff at all levels in the organisation. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

The Mechanical Maintenance Team Leader is responsible for managing all mechanical maintenance of all systems on site including CCGT and OCGT plants and auxiliaries. They will lead a team to ensure plant is maintained to best international practise. Duties will include but not be limited to:

  • Leading and empowering a maintenance team.
  • Scheduling, planning and optimising all mechanical maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Implementation and development of maintenance management systems
  • Development and management of applicable maintenance contracts including the management of contractors.
  • Operating and developing the Safe System of Work safety rules package as a Permit holder and Work Controller.
  • Being a leading participant in the planning, organising and implementation of annual overhauls.
  • Project management as required.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential

  • 5 years’ experience in a mechanical maintenance environment.
  • Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of mechanical, heavy rotational and pressure systems.
  • Experience in liaising with relevant statutory bodies and contractors.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise work.
  • Good IT skills

 

Desirable

  • Preferably will have supervisory experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading a customer focused team.
  • Experience in project management and/or good planning skills

 

 

Qualifications

 

Essential

  • A recognised 3rd level qualification Engineering Degree or a suitable qualification combined with extensive power station experience.

Salary

(£54,990 - £68,738)
