Conceptual and Detailed Engineering Design

Design Safety Management.

Project Scoping, Programming and Commercial Management.
The Substation Engineer will be required to have a project management and technical design background, detailed knowledge of internal safety procedures and excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will cover the items below:
The key responsibility of the role is to provide high quality designs and safety coordination on a diverse range of electricity transmission and distribution development projects. This includes:

Overall responsibility for producing substation designs, high voltage material lists attending design meetings and ensuring design deliverables are on time and budget and meets all the necessary quality requirements

A strong work ethic with a clear focus on delivering results within a tight time frame whilst ensuring the safety and quality of the project is not impacted

A proven track record of success contributing to the training and development of new entrants within the group

The ability to manage and coordinate inputs from a range of engineering disciplines and key stakeholders

A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service

Excellent communication skills
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
The successful candidate will ideally have several of the qualities listed below:
-
A proven track record in delivering substation engineering projects including detail high voltage substation designs
-
Experience in a wide range of the design including transmission and distribution substations, for example; (10/ 20 kV, 38 kV, 110 kV and 220 kV substation design).

Experience in Control & Protection Systems.
-
Experience in Auxiliary Power Systems (AC/DC).
-
Power Transformers and or Reactors.
-
Strong interpersonal skills
-
Full drivers licence
Desirable
It is desirable that the candidate has achieved the following:
-
Understanding and experience of the PSDP/CDMC processes
-
Knowledge of Eplan 5 and Eplan P8 design software
Qualifications
Essential
Either level 8 in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline, or level 7 in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline with equivalent work experience or equivalent work experience is essential
Location
The Sidings Dublin 2 or Eastgate Cork.

The successful candidate may combine remote / smart working within the jurisdiction, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, at least two days per week.

Salary
€49,000 - €58,000 Per annum
