We provide specialist engineering services to our Networks businesses in the area of overhead line transmission and distribution infrastructure projects. The team specialises in;

Delivering designs on a wide range of OHL transmission projects.

Design safety management
-
Project programming and commercial management
-
Project development
This enables us to provide safe, smart, reliable and resilient networks that enables the decarbonisation of society.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will cover the items below:

Provide surveying and draughting services on a wide range of HV Overhead lines projects

Liaise with clients, landowners, statutory bodies and other stakeholders.

Negotiate with local authorities, landowners and other parties to deliver viable routes for Overhead lines.

Negotiate access to private property with landowners and their legal representatives.

Manage the setting out of OHL structures on site.

Supervision of contractor/concrete pouring on site.

Providing technical support to colleagues in the area of OHL design, such as PLS-CADD, MicroStation and ArcGIS.

Production of mapping in ArcGIS for OHL routes, wayleaves, easements, etc.

Responsibility for preparation of design risk assessments and project Health & Safety plans under supervision of the Project Supervisor Design Process.

Completion of on-site Qualitative Risk Assessment (QRA) site walkovers as part of the TLAR process.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Working as part of this dynamic team, you will always have new challenges and new problems to solve – working together is key. You will have the autonomy to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems with the support of your colleagues.
We are looking for the following skills;

A minimum of three years relevant experience
-
Stakeholder engagement experience;

Proficient in use of surveying equipment – GPS and Total Station;

Hold a full driving licence and have own car
-
A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service;

Prover track record of delivery of projects on time and to the highest standards

Mapping experience using ArcGIS
Desirable
-
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
-
Experience with Laser Scanning equipment and software
-
Experience in the route selection process for utility assets infrastructure
Qualifications
- Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential
Location
You will be based in our office at Eastgate, Cork.

Reporting to

Salary
€36,000 to €42,000 per annum
