Position Description

The HR Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager is an integral part of the HR Strategy and Change Team, which leverages a leading practice structure that enables flexibility within the HR model to drive transformation and innovation. This team is pivotal in shaping the strategic direction of HR initiatives, and delivering key change projects, ensuring alignment with the overarching people and business strategy.

 

The HR Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager, plays a crucial role in the effective management of HR risks. The role is responsible for designing the future vision and development of the roadmap for HR Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) and integrating the ESB GRC Framework into HR practices. The role involves strategic oversight and stakeholder engagement to drive, champion, monitor and report on HR GRC practices across the business

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design of the future vision and strategy, and develop and implement the framework and roadmap for HR GRC, aligning with other relevant GRC frameworks in ESB.
  • Ensure delivery of HR GRC requirements, across all areas of HR, including maintaining consistency and compliance with standards and regulations.
  • Lead the ongoing assessment and management of HR risks.
  • Provide strategic advice and leadership guidance to support key stakeholders on HR GRC matters.
  • Drive continuous improvement in HR GRC processes, including leveraging digital and data solutions where relevant.
  • Track and report on HR GRC activities and ensure the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date documentation.

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 10 years business experience
  • Recognised relevant third level qualification or equivalent work experience
  • Proven experience in a governance, risk, and compliance role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate broad range of HR risks effectively, leveraging data analysis and reporting tools technology
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data privacy

Desirable

  • Professional certification in risk management or compliance related field (e.g., CAI, ACCA, IIA)
  • Experience in applying the agile methodology and other project management principles in a professional setting
  • Experience in process optimisation and using systems and risk management software

 

Location 

This position will be based in ESB Head Office Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

Salary

€83,400 - €98,100 per annum (depending on experience)
