Position Description 

As an Agile Coach within ESB IT Delivery, you will be responsible for leading and coaching IT Delivery Teams and stakeholders in the adoption and implementation of Agile methodologies and lean practices. Using your deep understanding of agile practices, you will play a pivotal role in guiding teams through agile transformations, encouraging new perspectives, and driving meaningful change within IT Delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide hands-on coaching on agile practices and principles to multidisciplinary IT Delivery Teams and Business stakeholders of all levels 
  • Mentor and collaborate with IT Delivery Teams to drive the adoption of agile practices, adapting and tailoring coaching techniques to fit the needs of each team 
  • Challenge the status quo while remaining open to compromise and collaboration
  • Provide leadership and guidance to influence stakeholders to promote and support agile practices
  • Drive the creation of Agile ways of working that meet ESB’s requirements
  • Create and maintain guides on Agile best practices tailored to ESB ways of working for the Methods and Resources area
  • Develop and deliver agile training sessions and workshops
  • Establish mechanisms to drive a culture of continuous improvement and lean practice
  • Feed into Projects and Products Communities of Practice

Experience

Essential:

  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years relevant IT experience 
  • Third level qualification in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience
  • A self-starter with a proven track record of leading agile teams and influencing stakeholders of all levels to deliver results
  • Experience working in a large established IT Project Delivery environments with a mix of delivery methodologies
  • In-depth knowledge of agile methodologies such as Scrum and SAFe
  • Excellent stakeholder management and interpersonal communication skills

Desirable:

  • Agile Coaching Certification
  • Agile certifications
  • Familiarity with agile project tooling
  • Experience in transitioning teams between delivery methodologies
  • Experience working in utilities or regulated industries

 

Location 

This position will be based in Head Office, 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

 

Reporting To

The successful candidate will report to Manager Project & Product Services, Methods & Resources.

Salary

€69,500 - €81,500 per annum, depending on experience
