B2B Portfolio Sales Manager [18 Months]
Position description
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work in the Electric Ireland Business Markets team. We have approximately 2750 Business customers for whom we strive to provide excellent customer service.
The candidate will manage a dynamic team of dedicated professionals and will be responsible for delivering excellent service to business customers, achieving growth and retention sales targets in respect of retail gas, retail electricity, and including energy services as required
Key Responsibilities
• Manage a team of Customer Relationship Managers and other professionals as required.
• Lead the drive for sales growth and retention through delivery of agreed sales objectives/ targets.
• Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the operation of the gas and electricity and energy services markets in Ireland so as to contribute positively to Electric Ireland’s strategic objectives.
• Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of customers’ businesses and needs, in order to tailor and implement customised service solutions to meet the needs of individual customers and groups.
• Ensure the team deliver timely and courteous customer service and communications to customers and stakeholders via phone, email and face to face, in line with company policies, sale & marketing strategy and brand values.
• Ensure team issue electricity and gas sales quotations to customers, assist with customer retention campaigns and generate customer reports.
• Identify areas for process improvement and for customised service solutions to meet the needs of specific customers and groups.
• Demonstrate leadership through taking responsibility for defined projects, major public tenders, stakeholder relationships, product development, marketing, staff development, etc.
This position entails close working relationships with other areas of the business including Trading, Pricing, Operations, Finance and Marketing in addition to the wider Business Markets area.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of 7-10 years sales experience and/or account management in a competitive market environment.
- Experience in leading and managing a dynamic team.
- Excellent planning and organising skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service focus.
- Understanding of products and pricing and knowledge of commercial contract negotiation & management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Full Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Innovation and creativity to adapt to changing environments / circumstances.
- Relevant knowledge of the electricity, gas, and energy services markets.
- An understanding of energy markets and trading.
- Ability to develop and manage relationships with customers and other industry stakeholders including brokers, consultants, trade bodies and service providers
Location
This position will be based in Dublin with regular visits to other locations including our Belfast office, head office in Dublin, our service partners in Cork and potential occasional visits to stakeholders.

Salary
€69,500 - €81,800 per annum (depending on experience)
