BIM Manager
We are looking for a BIM Manager, with at least 7 years’ experience, to manage our key engineering applications including our Engineering Document Management System (currently Meridian), Bentley and AutoDesk design applications. The role will provide technical guidance in all aspects of Digital Construction (BIM) methods and actively promote an appropriate balance of standardisation and innovation in the team whilst ensuring system users across ESB are working to agreed processes / standards and using the tools in line with best international practice.
This is a new role which will be a key part of this group with responsibility to deliver on our digital engineering ambitions. The role will be key in ensuring that ESB is using technology in design effectively, maximising our delivery efficiency with modern tools and processes, while maintaining exemplary standards in quality and safety on our projects.
Key Responsibilities
The manager is required to:
- Be responsible for development and maintenance of design processes in line with best industry practice for EMP and ESBN stakeholders.
- Support the rollout of digital engineering advances in EMP in line with our digital strategy.
- Ensure systems and processes are aligned for successful ISO19650 accreditation
- Lead a team of professionals responsible for the implementation of CAD standards for internal and external clients
- Be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Engineering Document Management System - Meridian
- Provide leadership and technical guidance to team members in all aspects of Digital engineering including BIM design concepts, training, development, mentoring and interfacing with stakeholders
- Manage the performance of the team to ensure a focus on safety, quality and efficiency in our outputs.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- A minimum of 7 years relevant experience.
- A third level qualification in Digital Construction (BIM) or equivalent proven experience.
- Proven ability to lead a team to a high level of performance and manage multiple priorities
- A clear understanding of how a professional engineering organisation should be managing its design applications and the administration required to ensure that our digital engineering deliverables are being managed to best practice.
- Strong commercial and project management capability.
- A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service
Desirable
- Experience working in organisation(s) where ISO19650 requirements have been successfully implemented.
- Strong knowledge of engineering systems IT architecture, database and server requirements.
- Knowledge of Revit design software
- A third level qualification on the use of CAD tools
- Knowledge of Primtech Substation Design Software
Location
This position will be based in ESB EMP offices in Dublin or Cork.

€69,500 to €85,500
