Position Description 

The IT & Digital area in Customer Solutions are responsible for all data, knowledge and technology platforms supporting the business strategy, working closely with our internal IT partners who are responsible for the delivery and implementation of all changes. Our technology landscape includes a broad SAP footprint, a wide range of digital technologies and other bespoke solutions and, at any time, a number of projects run concurrently across this landscape in addition to a program of operational change and process improvement.
 
The Business Solutions team in the IT & Digital area support the identification and scoping of changes required to deliver both short and long term goals, working closely with the business and our partners in Enterprise Services to deliver results in a timely and cost-effective manner.
 
The Business Solutions team wish to recruit a Business Analyst to support Electric Ireland and other customer facing brands. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Gathering, understanding, documenting and challenging business requirements and assessing their impact on existing processes, systems, data, and people in line with agreed principles and strategy.
  • Ensuring that the benefits of the relevant proposals are clearly articulated in a measurable way.
  • Providing input into the identification of both technical and process-lead options to deliver business requirements and improvements.
  • Identifying and communicating with key stakeholders on a regular basis to understand their business needs and to provide updates on the progress of key work items.
  • Managing prioritisation of requirements to optimise business benefits taking into account IT landscape and other constraints.
  • Working with our Regulation team to understand the impact of industry wide decisions on Customer Solutions systems and processes.
  • Working with Enterprise Services and other delivery partners to identify solutions.

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
  • A relevant 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.
  • Strong facilitation and meeting management skills.
  • Structured requirements gathering and documentation.
  • A high level of attention to detail, excellent organisation & communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Initiative and ability to take ownership of own work through to completion.
  • Strong stakeholder management (Project, Business & External).
  • The ability to understand core business processes and how they are enabled by related IT systems.

Desirable 

  • Business Process Modelling.
  • Structured problem-solving methodologies such as Lean and A3 or a desire to become accredited.
  • Word, Visio, Excel, Sharepoint, Office 365 knowledge.
  • Experience working in a utilities environment.

 

Location 

This position will be based in Swift Square, Santry, Dublin

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary

€49,800 - €58,600 per annum (depending on experience)
