Position Description

The ideal candidate will have an understanding and experience of the retail electricity market design and systems with a proven ability to communicate and engage with various stakeholders and to consistently deliver results.

 

Retail Market Design Service (RMDS) is the ring-fenced retail market design administrator reporting directly to CRU. Some of the activities of RMDS include:

  • Maintenance, Publication and Circulation of information relevant to retail market design
  • Support of new Market Participants in the market entry process
  • Provision of Retail market forum chair and secretariat functions
  • General support for Market Participants on retail market matters
  • Support and management of Retail Market Projects
  • Coordination of market assurance processes
  • Market Outage Management

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation, maintenance and monitoring of Discussion and Market Change Requests for the Retail Market Industry Governance Group.
  • Investigate and resolve Market Design issues including Non-Conformances
  • Project-manage RMDS Market Release planning, including impact analysis on current Market Design and cutover to new version
  • Market Assurance co-ordination & execution
  • Project manage accession of New Entrants to Retail Electricity Market
  • Co-ordinate publishing of updated, approved Market Design following Market Release
  • Provide secretariat expertise to market fora.
  • Support miscellaneous market projects, developing new market design material
  • Analysis of market discussion and change requests
  • Liaising with and supporting market participants and new market entrants, support of the retail market assurance processes
  • Managing, maintaining, and executing the relevant process, procedure in line with RMDS needs

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

Essential

  • 3rd Level Qualification or equivalent work experience 
  • 5+ years Electricity industry experience  
  • Experience in Stakeholder Management
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft Power BI

 

Location

This position will be based in 56 Upper Mount Street

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful  candidate may work flexibly within the  jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary

€49,000 to €56,000 per annum
