Position Description

 

Applications are invited for the position of Business Support Specialist with the Renewables Delivery Finance Team. 

 

Our Networks for Net Zero Strategy sets out ESB Networks’ role in enabling the delivery of the Government’s Climate Action Plan and supports the decarbonisation of electricity by 2040, which will enable the achieving of Ireland's net zero ambition no later than 2050.

 

The Renewables Delivery Finance Team is a part of the Renewables and Major Connections Team in ESB Networks Programme Delivery. The Team is responsible for managing the delivery of a threefold increase of renewable generation on the grid and is a key enabler of the Net Zero Strategy.  The position includes the preparation of invoices, gathering and monitoring of pass-through costs, assistance/preparation of Pre CAs, CAs & AEAs, job control and costing. The role requires working closely with many stakeholders including, EMP, DSO, EirGrid, Fin Ops etc.           

  

Key Responsibilities

 

Key tasks include, but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Preparation of invoices for renewable generation customers. Ensuring these invoices are prepared accurately and efficiently in line with energisation deadlines.
  • Coordinating with Renewables Delivery Lead Project Managers, Project Leaders and Project Supervisors in the financial management of their projects.
  • Monitoring and cost control within renewables project
  • Processing of cancellation of projects where necessary  
  • Ensuring the accurate recording and monitoring of Pass-Through Costs.
  • Assisting in the preparation of a variety of financial reports as necessary
  • Provide support in the preparation of Pre CAs and Capital Approvals for renewables projects including a keen awareness for the potential recovery of Pass-Through Costs.
  • Preparation of Additional Expenditure Approvals. Liaising with various people to see AEA’s through to close out.
  • Closing out projects when completed.
  • Liaising with EMP, DSO, TSO, ARM, Fin Ops and other business units as necessary to complete a number of the tasks already listed
  • Ad hoc finance related queries and solutions to same.

  

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

  • Good communication skills and ability to work within a team.
  • Strong Report writing capability
  • Experience in SharePoint and Excel would be desirable
  • 2+ Years’ Experience
  • A willingness to learn

 

 Qualifications

 

  • 3rd Level qualification or equivalent/relevant work experience is essential.


Location

 

Dublin 

 

The successful candidate may combine working from home within the Republic of Ireland, with attendance at base, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and may change as we learn about hybrid working.

Salary

 

€41,000 - €48,000 per annum.
