The Civil Structural Technologist will play a key role in the delivery of civil and structural engineering services from feasibility through to construction stage of EMP projects for ESB. This role involves close collaboration with design teams, ESB partners, and Contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
Key Responsibilities
- Produce and oversee high-quality 2D drawings and advanced 3D models using Autodesk Civil 3D
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior technicians and design team members
- Coordinate design activities within multidisciplinary teams, ensuring integration across engineering disciplines
- Support project planning, scheduling, and delivery, ensuring milestones and deliverables are achieved
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and contractors to resolve technical issues
- Drive continuous improvement in document production processes, digital delivery, and standardisation practices
- Contribute to the development and implementation of BIM and digital engineering workflows
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
A minimum of 4 years post qualification experience in an engineering design office
- A Level 8 qualification or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering from recognized a third-level institution, or more than 10 years of relevant experience that clearly meets and exceeds the requirements of the position.
- Proficiency and extensive experience in the use of Autodesk Civil 3D and AutoCAD.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver project deadlines.
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Organized and adaptable with a flexible approach to work
- Holds a full driving license with access to a car.
Desirable
- Experience with BIM processes and digital engineering workflows
- Familiarity with additional design software (e.g., Revit, ArcGIS)
- A third-level qualification in Digital Construction (BIM) or equivalent demonstrable experience
Location
This role is based in either E&MP Dublin/ Cork offices but travel to project locations as required is a key requirement of the role.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at agreed frequencies weekly. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

Salary
€49,000 - €58,000 Per annum
