Position Description

The People Experience and Capability team is seeking a Communication, Engagement and People Experience Specialist to join the team. This role will support the People Experience & Capability function by delivering high‑quality communications, people‑centred engagement, impactful experience initiatives across ESB Networks and associated administrative support.

 

This operational role strengthens connection, clarity, and culture through events, communications, insights, and change support activities. It plays an important role in ensuring employees and managers feel informed, valued, and supported during the moments that matter.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Deliver clear, consistent and timely internal communications aligned with ESB Networks' strategy, promoting ESB's values and "Our Behaviours".
  • Create high-quality content across a range of channels, including SharePoint, intranet, email, presentations, briefings, scripts and video content.
  • Support PX, HRBPs, Business Leads and managers through the development of communication plans, messaging, toolkits, briefings and communication packs.
  • Manage and continuously improve internal communications channels, distribution lists and the ESB Networks Internal Communications mailbox.
  • Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of communications, events and engagement activities to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Plan and deliver engaging in-person and virtual events, managing all aspects of delivery including logistics, digital platforms, speakers, materials and follow-up communications.
  • Maintain event playbooks, templates and standards to ensure a consistent, high-quality employee experience.
  • Analyse employee feedback, including Our Voice survey results, to identify trends, develop actionable insights and support continuous listening initiatives through reporting, feedback mechanisms and insight-led storytelling.
  • Manage and enhance SharePoint, intranet and M365 communication platforms, developing user-friendly pages, hubs and document libraries while leveraging tools such as Teams, Viva, Forms and Stream to improve communication reach, accessibility, engagement and insights.
  • Support the administration, communications and stakeholder coordination of ESB Networks' Early Careers Programmes
  • Build strong relationships with PX, HRBPs, Business Leads and Corporate Communications to ensure aligned and effective messaging.
  • Provide communication advice and guidance to leaders and managers on communication channels, tone and engagement best practice.
  • Foster trusted stakeholder partnerships that support proactive planning and effective organisational communication.

 

 

Experience & Qualifications

 

Essential

 

  • Relevant third-level qualification or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years' relevant experience in internal communications, employee engagement, HR communications or people experience roles.
  • Strong event management capability across in-person and virtual environments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including networking, collaboration, active listening, influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management.
  • Strong written and verbal English language skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging communications and storytelling.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to produce visually engaging content, including presentations, digital content and video briefs.
  • Proficiency in SharePoint, intranet platforms and M365 communication tools.
  • Highly organised, proactive and adaptable, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.

 

 

Location

This position will be based in Leopardstown, Co. Dublin

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary

€59,000 to €70,000 per annum
