Communications & Strategic Content Specialist
Position Description
ESB Networks is seeking an experienced communication and strategic content specialist to join our Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Communications team to help articulate stakeholder narratives, influence policy and communicate the benefits of our Networks for Net Zero strategy.
The successful candidate will be an excellent writer and editor, skilled at adapting technical material for a multi stakeholder audience and will work with colleagues across ESB Networks to identify, create and disseminate a body of relevant thought leadership content across multiple communication channels.

This role will play a crucial role in communicating the benefits of our Networks for Net Zero Strategy to our stakeholders and customers as we work to deliver a net zero ready electricity network by 2040.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of high-impact content that shapes industry conversations and engages diverse stakeholders. Translate complex technical and strategic information into clear, compelling narratives for multi-stakeholder audiences.
- Research and develop an in-depth understanding of ESB Networks strategic context and plans and originate white papers, reports, policy responses and other strategic content to inform stakeholders and influence future industry developments.
- Create and edit speeches, articles, and stakeholder-facing materials aligned with ESB Networks’ strategic ambitions.
- Collaborate across the organization to validate expert-led content and support senior leadership with briefing materials and presentations.
- Draw insights from stakeholder and reputation research to identify subjects and issues that are relevant to ESB Networks stakeholders and turn these into actionable content and communications plans.
- Align all content with organizational goals, values, and regulatory requirements.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Honours degree (or equivalent) in English, Communications, Marketing, Arts, Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum of seven years’ experience in a similar level role.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to simplify complex technical material for diverse audiences.
- Strong track record in creating compelling narratives and positioning content for internal and external stakeholders.
- Research capability and understanding of evidence-based policy processes.
Desirable
- Experience in the energy sector is desirable but not essential.
Location
This position will be based in Leopardstown, Dublin.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.
Reporting To
Stakeholder Engagement and Strategic Communications Manager. The successful candidate will be part of the ESB Networks Strategy, Stakeholder, Innovation, and Electrification team.

Salary
€71,000 to €84,000 per annum
