Core Energy Product Manager
Position Description
Customer Solutions is the primary customer facing business unit of the ESB Group. Through the Electric Ireland brand, it is the leading energy supplier in Ireland. It serves 1.4 million customers, both Residential and Business in an All-Ireland market and has an annual turnover in excess of €2 BN. Electric Ireland’s current product offerings include Electricity, Gas & New Energy products such as Solar PV.
This is an exciting and challenging opportunity for an organised and energetic individual to lead the strategic direction, innovation, and commercial success of Electric Ireland’s Core Energy product portfolio. Define and communicate product vision and strategy aligned with ESB’s Net Zero and business transformation goals.
The role is reporting to the Products and Propositions Manager within the Customer, Commercial and Strategy team and will be responsible for managing products within the Core Energy product portfolio including Smart, Microgeneration, Electricity, Gas tariffs and any future propositions such as dynamic tariffs and bundled products. This role will work across the Electric Ireland business leading on the delivery of the residential product roadmap and associated KPIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage Design Thinking, data analytics, and market insights to develop a comprehensive understanding of customers and the energy market, utilising this to shape the vision and operational product roadmap for the energy product portfolio.
- Lead in the evolution of the existing energy portfolio to optimise the performance of each energy product based on changing customer needs. Delivering margin KPIs for each tariff plus operations/IT efficiencies through product life cycle management.
- Lead in the creation and approval of the product strategy, highlighting how to evolve the portfolio to meet customers’ needs
- Manage the commercial prioritisation of the operational product development pipeline ensuring alignment and prioritisation across the residential team with efficient execution.
- Manage a multi skilled team of Product managers capable of producing innovative products and bringing to market leading product solutions
- Manage all internal stakeholders, including finance, IT, Legal, regulation and wider residential team to deliver product strategy workstream.
- Manage the operations of the current energy product portfolio with responsibility for customer journeys including on-boarding, complaint resolution on product-related investigations into issues on customer accounts.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential

- Preferably with product or proposition management experience within the energy sector or a related industry.
- 7+ years relevant work experience
- Third level qualification or equivalent work experience is required.
Desirable
- Commercial modelling and excel skills.
- Prior experience working in a B2C role.
- Experience of launching customer propositions to residential customers.
- Experience of development of business cases.
- Data analytics skills.
- An understanding of the digital world of marketing and communications.
- Understanding of the energy market.
Location
This position will be based in Swift Square, Santry

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

Salary
€69,500 - €81,500 per annum, depending on experience.
