Position Description

 

The candidate is required to manage portfolio sales and service through a team of Portfolio Customer Relationship Managers and through the Business Sales Support team who deliver excellent service to business customers, achieve growth and retention sales targets in respect of retail electricity, retail gas and including energy services as required.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Contribute to the development and of sales, customer relationship and marketing strategy in the Gas and Electricity and energy services retail area through collaboration with I&C and SME strategy managers
  • Lead the drive for sales growth and retention through delivery of agreed sales objectives/ targets
  • Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the operation of the gas and electricity and energy services markets in Ireland so as to contribute positively to Electric Ireland’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and manage relationships with customers and other industry stakeholders including brokers, consultants, trade bodies and service providers
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of customers’ businesses and needs.
  • Work closely with wider Business Sales team to identify areas for process improvement and for customised service solutions to meet the needs of specific individual customers and groups
  • Contribute to the development of sales, customer relationship and marketing strategy in the Gas and Electricity and energy services retail area.
  • Tailor and implement customised service solutions to meet the needs of individual customers and groups.
  • Ensure team delivers timely and courteous customer service and communications to customers and stakeholders via phone, email and face to face, in line with company policies, sale & marketing strategy and brand values.
  • Identify and deliver customer hospitality opportunities as appropriate
  • Support and advice team in their efforts tailor and implement customised service solutions to meet the needs of individual customers and groups
  • Support team in issuing electricity and gas sales quotations to customers, assisting with customer retention campaigns and generating customer reports
  • Demonstrate leadership through taking responsibility for defined projects, major public tenders, stakeholder relationships, product development, marketing and staff development.  
  • This position entails close working relationships with other areas of the business including Operations, Finance and Marketing in addition to the wider Business Markets area.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential

 

Candidate requires relevant professional qualification or equivalent in Sales, Marketing or an Engineering discipline with sales experience and/or Account Management in a competitive market environment

  • Minimum of 7-10 years sales experience and/or Account Management in a competitive market environment
  • Relevant knowledge of the Electricity, Gas and energy services markets
  • Experience in leading and managing a dynamic team
  • Innovation and creativity to adapt to changing environments / circumstances
  • A proactive, enthusiastic and commercially focussed individual
  • Excellent interpersonal, influencing & communication skills, and a proven ability to collaborate and engage with stakeholders
  • Excellent planning and organising skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Product Pricing & Development
  • Commercial Contract Negotiation & Management
  • Energy Trading – Market Understanding
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Full Driving Licence

Qualifications

 

Essential

 

  • Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience in Sales, Marketing or an Engineering discipline

 

Location

 

Flexible. This role could be based in either our offices in Swift Square, or Belfast.

 

 

Reporting to

 

This role will report to the Business Sales Manager

 

Salary

 

€61,000 - 75,000pa
