Electrical Engineer (Asset Performance)

We are looking for an Asset Performance Specialist with 5+ years’ experience to provide engineering and asset performance management services to internal and external clients.

 

In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients, you will play a pivotal role in delivering a strategic maintenance plan and will involve interaction with all asset owner functions within ESB group.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage asset data and maintenance work ordering process using the maintenance platform(s)
  • Develop, maintain and manage assets models using the existing platform(s) for all transmission, distribution and generation assets
  • Work closely with ESB-Networks and external parties to develop asset health models.
  • Regular reporting on maintenance interventions based on work orders and follow up with ESB- Networks on open actions
  • Create maintenance templates for transmission, distribution and generation assets
  • Management and deployment of all asset performance and maintenance software used for the test kits to the end users
  • Prepare work instructions, technical reports, procedures and provide technical training to internal staff and other stakeholders as required

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • 3rd Level Electrical Engineering qualification and at least 5 Years work experience with utility assets
  • Knowledge of Transmission and Distribution substation and overhead line assets and related maintenance programmes and testing.
  • Good understanding of SQL and experience developing complex queries to extract data, in particular related to electrical assets.
  • Good knowledge of Power BI including Power Query, data modelling, report development and workspace management.
  • Knowledge of health index calculation methodologies and experience in their practical application in electrical assets.
  • Familiar with the software utilised for storing asset and maintenance data in T&DE including asset data management, location management, maintenance templates and reporting.
  • Experience communicating concepts to technical and non-technical audiences

 

Desirable

  • Experience with project management and project delivery
  • Background in utilising platforms for asset management
  • Experience in online monitoring of electrical assets
  • Full Driving License and access to a car

 

 

Location

This position will be based in OneDAC, Dublin Airport.  Site work throughout Ireland and internationally, will be a feature in this role.

Salary

€57,000 to €71,500
