Energy Credits Specialist [15 Months]
Position Description
We are seeking an Energy Credits Specialist with a degree in Engineering or another technical discipline and 3 to 5 years experience in the energy or related industries. Familiarity with the Irish Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme (EEOS) is highly desirable.
You will be responsible for delivering non-residential Energy Credits to meet Electric Ireland’s obligations under the EEOS. This is a customer-facing role with a strong regulatory and compliance element. The successful candidate will have excellent numeracy and analytical skills, excellent interpersonal and written communications skills, and will be strongly motivated to work with energy efficiency and sustainable energy technologies.
In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity and empowering clients, you will work closely with customers, with suppliers of energy credits, and with SEAI to ensure Electric Ireland’s compliance with its efficiency obligations. You will gain valuable experience and understanding of energy efficiency technologies and industrial processes across a range of industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Electric Ireland’s Energy Credits Obligation: Engagement with customers and third parties, collation of documentation, submission to SEAI (Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland) and processing of payments.
- Measurement and Verification: Review energy efficiency measures and develop M&V plans to ensure customers take the correct steps to monitor their energy consumption in order to calculate eligible energy savings for reporting purposes.
- Data Analysis: Develop different methods to validate savings, with the ability to find new ways to verify savings such as carrying out regression analysis and normalisation of data using ENPIs.
- Contracting: Negotiate and enter into Agreements for the supply of credits.
- Quality Assurance: Manage Quality Assurance framework in line with EEOS guidance and ISO 9001 quality standard.
- Stakeholders: Manage key stakeholder relationships including relationships with SEAI, suppliers, and customers.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Level 8 engineering or other technical degree, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years relevant experience in the energy industry or related industries.
- Excellent numeracy and analytical skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills.
- Understanding of Energy Efficiency and related technologies in industry.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
Desirable
- Familiarity with the Irish Energy Efficiency Obligation Scheme.
- Certified Energy Manager qualification.
- Full drivers licence.
Location
The successful candidate will join ESB’s Smart Energy Services team and will be based in Electric Ireland’s offices in Swift Square, Santry, Dublin, and in ESB Head Office in Dublin. Some travel may be required from time to time.

Salary
€49,800 - €58,600 per annum (depending on experience)
