Position Description
ESB is a vertically integrated electric utility which holds leading market positions in power generation and electricity supply in Ireland & Northern Ireland, has operations in the GB and an International Engineering Consultancy business (ESB International).

In joining our Finance team, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team, working to achieve maximum value for ESB Group.
Key Responsibilities
- As a Commercial Analyst you will be required to develop, review and challenge business cases / investment decisions as part of cross functional commercial working group/s.
- You will also be required to develop and deliver the long term financial model for annual business planning purposes, as well as provide financial support for commercial contract negotiations.
- Successful candidates will also provide a range of support including accounting, financial and commercial analysis across a range of activities and projects to ESB Business Units.
General
- ESB will support you through formal training and work shadowing and will work with you to develop your career path in ESB.
- Rotations are a feature within the Finance area.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- A commercial mind set with effective analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to comprehend complex business issues involving processes, people and systems.
- Conversant with financial modelling techniques.
- Knowledge and experience in commercial transactions, due diligence, project finance, commercial banking, engagement with clients / financiers etc.
- Will advise on and influence decision-making, review, challenge & engage with/make recommendations on commercial/ strategic decisions.
- Strong stakeholder management skills (internal and external e.g. clients / financiers), ability to leverage relationships to influence solutions, communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.
- An ability to act independently – typically solves complex problems or problems where precedent may not exist.
- Strong technical knowledge & experience including excellent Excel skills.
- A knowledge of the energy industry would be beneficial.
Qualifications
An accounting or other financial professional qualification is required with at least 2 years relevant PQE.
Location
The position is based in Dublin however flexibility will be considered as part of ESB's Smart Working arrangements.

The successful candidate may combine remote / smart working within the jurisdiction, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review.

Salary
€55,000- €62,000 per annum.
