GT - IT Business Analyst (Band 4)
Position Description
The IT & Digital team is responsible for developing and delivering the IT & Digital Strategy required by the business to support the strategic objectives of Generation & Trading, and to manage implementation of the Strategy in a cost-effective and value-driven manner. The current Information Technology & Digital landscape includes a suite of applications to manage work and support the safety of plant and personnel together with a supporting Telecoms infrastructure, and to trade and participate in the all-Island market. Support and development for the GT application suite is managed in close partnership with Enterprise Services.
In line with the overall ESB digital strategy the Generation IT & Digital team is seeking to extend the reach of digital technology within the Generation business. A key goal of the team is to work with Generation stakeholders to identify digital opportunities that will deliver value to the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities where digital can add value to the Generation business
- Create a pipeline of business cases for Generation governance boards to prioritise and seek investment to deliver
- Understand how the underlying IT architecture of the Generation business works and assess impact of proposed changes to same
- Assist in the delivery of the Generation IT work programme
- Assist in the development, management, reporting and re-forecasting on the IT & Telecoms capital and operational budgets on a quarterly basis
- Ensure that functional and technical changes to the IT architecture are managed and governed appropriately
- Manage relationships between IT service providers and GT business users
- Provide a business co-ordination role on corporate IT projects including business unit testing, business readiness, progress reporting to the project manager and/or GT senior user as appropriate
- Adoption and change management
- Representing IT & Digital and the GT business on relevant IT forums
- Supporting the IT & Digital manager and team in the planning & scheduling of the Generation Governance IT, Digital and Telecoms Change Boards as and when required
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- A relevant 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience is required
- Minimum of 3-4 years' experience in a similar role
- A proven track record in the development and co-ordination of IT Projects
- Excellent communications and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to operate at all levels within the organisation
- Initiative, and results focused
- Ability to understand technical detail and system architecture and how systems interface with each other
- Understanding of Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Ability to multitask and work with a diverse group of stakeholders
- Knowledge of the Generation & Trading Business
- Knowledge and experience of enterprise-wide technologies and infrastructure employed across ESB
- Knowledge of Digital & Cyber Security Technologies
Location
ESB Head Office, Dublin.

This role will report to the IT & Digital Business Partner in Generation.

Salary
€48,000 to €56,000 per annum
