As part of ESB Group, ESB Networks are licensed to build, operate, maintain and develop the electricity network in the Republic of Ireland. We build and operate the medium and low voltage electricity infrastructure, including distribution stations, overhead lines, poles and underground cables. The ESB Group is committed to achieving Net Zero by 2040, and ESB Networks has a key role to play in making that happen.   

 

ESB Networks’ Supply Chain team manages the ESB Networks stores and inventory, working closely with the Procurement to ensure an integrated approach to supply chain management by optimising working capital and inventory.

 

ESB is looking for a manager to join the Supply Chain organisation of ESB Networks. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to rotate into various roles within Supply Chain as business needs change. The main areas in supply chain are: supplier management, warehouse management, inventory control, logistics, Local ESB stores and contractor stores management.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders by ensuring a culture of open communication.
  • Drive business performance and achievement of targets.
  • Develop, implement and manage business plans and policies. 
  • Co-ordinate resources and activities of the team to deliver materials for all work programmes in a safe and cost-effective manner. 
  • Setting stocking levels to meet targets of materials availability and stock holding.
  • Utilising our SAP based Material system to improve our business processes.
  • Managing cost base and achieving budgetary targets.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure effective delivery for the business requirements.
  • Work with procurement and asset management in an efficient manner.   
  • Where applicable motivate and assist teams and individuals to achieve business goals through regular performance conversations.
  • Identify and proactively manage changes that are necessary in the organisation to support ESB’s Net Zero by 2040 goal.
  • Maintains the highest levels of safety, on a personal and a team basis, including the completion of safety audits, safety performance reviews and safety coaching.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential 

  • Minimum of 10 years Supply Chain/Logistics Experience
  • Advance IT skills, Microsoft and warehouse software knowledge
  • Experience in managing a large number of suppliers to ensure continuous supply of material.
  • Strong understanding and experience of Logistics and Material Management.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Experience in management and motivation a team of staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in the ability to analyse and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills

 

Desirable

  • Experience of EWM/SAP and other systems for effective material management or equivalent
  • Proven leadership experience with a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience in a senior Supply Chain role.

 

Qualification 

Essential

  • Level 8 Degree in Business / Supply Chain
  • Full driving licence

 

Location 

ESB Dublin Supply Stores. Ballycoolin, Co. Dublin.

 

General 

The successful candidate will be expected to rotate within Supply Chain as business needs required.

 

Reporting to

Supply Chain Senior Manager

 

Salary

€69,000 to €81,000 per annum
