Position Description

ESB is seeking an experienced Group Marketing Communications Manager to join our Marketing & Customer Insights Leadership Team, playing a critical role in how we engage customers and markets as we deliver our Net Zero by 2040 ambition.

 

This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for translating strategy into high impact, insight led marketing communications across ESB and Electric Ireland. You will lead a large, talented team and partner closely across brand, media, product and compliance to deliver standout communications in competitive and regulated markets. You will also contribute to the evolution of a best in class marketing function, ensuring ESB is equipped to deliver marketing effectiveness now and in the future.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ESB’s centralised marketing communications function (excluding ESB Networks).
  • Develop and deliver integrated communication strategies across mass, digital and direct channels, ensuring strategic and effective brand management.
  • Lead best in class creative and media strategies that drive brand engagement and business results.
  • Embed marketing effectiveness, insight and measurement into planning and investment decisions.
  • Manage significant marketing budgets and agency partnerships with strong governance, including tender processes and audits.
  • Lead, inspire and develop a team of circa15 marketing professionals

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 10+ years experience, with five years senior level experience in marketing communications within a complex or regulated environment.
  • Creative flair with a track record of delivering impactful integrated advertising campaigns.
  • Proven leadership of large, multidisciplinary marketing teams and influencing stakeholders.
  • Strong technical experience across creative development, media strategy and digital marketing.
  • Commercial acumen, strong stakeholder skills and disciplined budget management.
  • A relevant third‑level qualification in Marketing, Business or a related discipline.

 Desirable

  • Qualifications in Marketing or Advertising.
  • Training and development on people management.
  • Personal Development training.

 

Location

This position will be based between our offices in Swift Square, Santry, Dublin 9 and Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€86,300 - €101,600 per annum (depending on experience)
