Position description

 

Group Sourcing is operating in an exciting and dynamic environment which provides an excellent opportunity for the successful candidate to gain knowledge and expand their career in Procurement. The role of the Buyer is to assist clients across the ESB Group in procuring goods and services between €5k-€300k, achieving best value for money, while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, internal procedures and the code of ethics for the governance of state bodies.

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Manage tenders and quick quote processes including the tender evaluation process in conjunction with the business and in line with ESB Procedures 
  • Develop close working relationship with internal customers while providing exemplary customer service
  • Administering a procurement shared mailbox
  • SAP contract management and SAP SRM administration
  • Supplier relationship management
  • Supplier identification & sourcing
  • Identifying areas for process improvement

 

 

 

Experience and Qualifications 

 

Essential

 

  • High levels of commitment, judgement and interpersonal skills are required for the role 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Work experience in a business environment 
  • An excellent working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint

 

 

Desirable

  • Experience and knowledge of Procurement
  • Knowledge of ESB’s organization structure and Group Procurement procedures
  • An appropriate third level qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain/ other business studies or equivalent work experience
  • A willingness to commit to internal and external training as required
  • A professional qualification in finance, business or procurement is desirable but not essential.  If required, the successful candidate must be prepared to undertake a qualification in Procurement.

 

 

Location

 

This position will be based in ESB Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

 

 

Reporting To

 

The role will report to one of the Group Sourcing Category Managers in ES Procurement

Salary

 

€33,500 - €40,200 per annum, depending on experience
