HR Business Partner
Position Description
As a key member of the HR Team, the HR Business Partner will positively impact colleagues and leaders in the organisation whilst ensuring HR processes and programs are implemented in a manner that adds value to the business we work closely with.
HR Business Partners deliver a range of HR services and support across each Business. They advise, coach and support management teams on people-related initiatives and issues. They are responsible as the business lead for specific HR areas with the Business Unit, such as Strategic Resource Planning, Performance & Development, or Succession Management etc. This is an exciting opportunity for a self- driven HR Professional.
Key Responsibilities
- Relationship and Stakeholder Management: Build relationships with appropriate people within the business in order to understand the business context and people related challenges Play a key role in liaising with other key HR teams and Centres of Excellence, nurturing positive relationships to deliver people initiatives and service improvements.
- HR Business Planning and Business Support: Share HR plans, targets & KPIs with business line managers, implement and review progress on HR plans, targets and KPIs with the business line managers. Influence, support and guide managers with regard to people issues and performance management and implementation of ESB Reward models.
- Strategic HR Initiatives & Lead Responsibility: Take lead responsibility for an area of strategic importance on behalf of the HR Team. Areas of lead responsibility include: Talent Management Plans, Succession Planning, Capability Planning & Delivery, Attendance Management, Performance and Development, Change Management.
- Talent Acquisition: Support the line managers in developing business cases for resource approval that are an exception to the Integrated Business Plan/ Strategic Resource Plan. Oversee and track the Talent Acquisition (TA) process milestones completed by People Operations based on the needs of the business.
- Employee Relations: Coach the line managers on Employee Relations issues including finding appropriate solutions to ER issues in accordance with Employee Terms and Conditions and ESB Policies and Procedures.
- Change Management: Support organisational change initiatives/projects and facilitate a high performing organisational culture through effective people management and development. Support the implementation of Group-wide HR initiatives within Enterprise Services.

Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- A relevant Professional qualification or significant relevant experience is essential.
- Minimum 3+ years’ relevant work experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and develop key relationships with managers and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work cross functionally with colleagues on a variety of projects.
- Proven leadership, relationship management and influencing skills.
- Attention to detail, with superb analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter, with ability to work independently.
Desirable
- Background in HR and knowledge of HR Practice, Policies and Procedures
- An understanding of related Legislation and procedures
- An understanding of how IT/PHR can impact on cost effectiveness and business performance
Location
This position will be based in ESB Leopardstown.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€49,000 to €56,000 per annum
