Position Description


The HR Systems Manager is responsible for leveraging ESB’s HR systems to deliver optimum levels of efficiency, automation and compliance for the HR function. The role involves liaising with ITS, the HR Process Owners and key HR Stakeholders to define the optimum systems and digital Roadmap for Finance and for managing ongoing systems change. The key HR Systems are SAP S4, Success Factors and Concur      


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and lead IT/digital strategy for HR (in conjunction with ITS).  
  • Partner with HR Process Owners and ITS to identify opportunities for best practice, efficiencies and automation through process improvements and leveraging technology in existing and new systems.  
  • Optimise existing System utilisation working closely with Process Owners and Super User Groups - training, policy updates, continuous improvement and implementation of best practice 
  • Support ESB project activity requiring HR system change and manage systems change request process.  


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


  • Ability to take initiative, identify issues, develop solutions and drive through business improvements 
  • Broad understanding of HR Processes and Best Practice across areas 
  • The ability to comprehend complex business issues involving processes, people & systems   
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills 
  • In-depth understanding of the SAP ERP platform




A recognised third level Qualification is essential.




The position is based in ESB’s Head Office in Dublin however, ESB is committed to offering flexibility in ways of working and we call that Smart Working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible and remote ways of working.   


The successful candidate may combine remote / smart working within the jurisdiction, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review.

Salary Range


The salary range for this position is €76,000 - 90,000pa.
