IT Delivery through Deliver with Networks and Deliver with ESB is responsible for the delivery of all IT Projects and Products in ESB’s IT and Digital investment work programme. Working within our project delivery teams, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team of IT Professionals working to achieve maximum value for our customers and all our IT investments across a range of technologies.

 

Key Responsibilities

The IT Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the project on behalf of the Project Board including: 

  • Project management of all project stages from Definition/concept to completion.
  • Development and management of the project plan and documentation, manage risks and issues, oversee resource allocation, and update initial estimates as necessary throughout the project's lifecycle.
  • Prepare project reports (including Issue Reports, Exception Reports and End Stage Reports as required) to Methods & Resources standards.
  • Issue reports to agreed schedules to the Project Board and escalate issues to the Project Board in a timely manner, such as deviations from the plan using appropriate Change Control procedures.
  • Lead, motivate project team members and manage key stakeholders directly related to project deliverables.
  • Ensure that all project team functions are carried out either directly or through appointed project team members (including Communications, Change Control, Team and Test Management).
  • Act as advocate for promoting and ensuring consistent use of Methods & Resources standards and procedures in particular the PMO Framework and the Digital Operating Model. 

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years' relevant project management experience, including relevant IT experience with the proven ability to deliver small-medium scale IT projects and Products, managing teams in a multi-vendor environment. 
  • Experience of industry-standard project management methodologies, specifically Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall / PRINCE2. 
  • Track record in successfully delivering projects to agreed controls.  
  • Self-motivator, problem solver with excellent communications and stakeholder management skills, and strong interpersonal skills, including negotiating and influencing.   
  • Strong Analytical skills and ability to deal with complex data with high degree of accuracy.  
  • Highly organised planning and time management skills with excellent attention to detail. 
  • Proven leadership and effective decision-making capabilities.

Desirable

  • Third Level IT qualification
  • PRINCE2 Practitioner Project Management certification
  • Certification in Agile project management methodologies such as SCRUM software development framework would be an advantage
  • Strong cross-functional understanding of Business Functions, e.g. IT Delivery, CIO, BA, Test and Change 
  • Ability to work with individuals from all levels within the organisation   

 

Location

This position will be based in Fitzwilliam 27, ESB’s Head Office, Dublin.

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

 

Reporting To

The successful candidate will report to an IT Delivery Deliver with Networks/Deliver with ESB Project/Portfolio Manager

Salary

€59,900 - €70,500 per annum (depending on experience)
