IT Project Manager (Waterfall) / Agile Delivery Lead
Position Description
Our Delivery teams are responsible for the delivery of all IT Projects/Digital Products in ESB’s IT Capital work programme supporting ESB Digital Strategy. Working within our Business Delivery teams, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team of IT Professionals working to achieve maximum value for our customers and all our IT investments across a range of technologies, serving the business in specific strategic business objectives.
As IT Project Manager / Agile Delivery Lead, you will be delegated by the relevant Governance Board to manage a project/product on a day-to-day basis, within agreed constraints and the specified tolerances of scope, time, cost and quality. You will be responsible for the management of the full end-to-end through all stages. The resulting products and/or services should be capable of achieving the benefits as defined in the Business Case.
Key Responsibilities
As an IT Project Manager / Agile Delivery Lead, you will be responsible for the overall management of projects and products, ensuring full end-to-end delivery. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring Scope management including, but not limited to, engaging and supporting prioritisation, requirements gather and maintains of scope during delivery.
- Providing regular updates to stakeholders including Line Managers, Sponsors/Executives, escalation of issues to Governance Boards as required, using appropriate Change Control procedures.
- Managing finances, ensuring forecasts are regularly reviewed and included in Portfolio Planning. Preparing and maintaining schedules, updating early-stage estimates as needed. Maintaining delivery documentation including Risk Register, Issue Register, Action Trackers, and Daily Log.
- Delivering outcomes capable of achieving the benefits defined in the Business Case, at the appropriate level of quality and managing the transition back to support of the capability delivered to the business via a transition plan.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of 8+ Years experience with 5+ years as a Project Manager leading an IT project or Agile Delivery Lead leading an Agile Release Train using standard methodologies e.g. Waterfall/PRINCE2/SAAFE
- A proven ability to deliver on projects / products in a fast-paced environment across wide range of IT platforms.
- Ability to manage, communications and co-ordinate stakeholders and bring teams together to deliver to a common goal
- Third level education in a Computing discipline or equivalent experience required.
Desirable
- PRINCE2 Practitioner Project Management certification
- Certification in Agile project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 Agile and/or SAFE software development framework would be an advantage.
- Experience incident and change management processes- preferably ITIL certified
- Experience in procurement / dealing with 3rd party vendors.
- Project Management and/or SAFE Certification
Location
This position will be based in Fitzwilliam 27, ESB’s new Head Office, Dublin

Salary
€69,500 - €81,700 per annum (depending on experience)
