IT Project Manager
Position Description

IT Project Delivery is responsible for the delivery of all IT Projects and Products in ESB’s IT Capital work programme. Working within our Project Delivery team, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team of IT Professionals working to achieve maximum value for our customers and all our IT investments across a range of technologies.
Key Responsibilities
The IT Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management of the project on behalf of the Project Board including:
- Develop and manage the project plan and documentation, oversee resource allocation, and update initial estimates as necessary throughout the project's lifecycle.
- Prepare project reports (including Issue Reports, Exception Reports and End Stage Reports as required) to PMO standards.
- Issue reports to agreed schedules to the Project Board and PMO.
- Escalate issues to the Project Board as required, such as deviations from the plan using appropriate Change Control procedures.
- Lead, motivate project team members and manage key stakeholder directly related to project deliverables
- Ensure that all project team functions are carried out either directly or through appointed project team members (including Communications, Change Control and Team Management).
- Delivers results that fulfil the objectives outlined in the Business Case while maintaining the requisite standards of quality.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' relevant project management experience, including relevant IT experience with the proven ability to deliver small-medium scale IT projects and Products, managing teams in a multi-vendor environment.
- Experience of industry-standard project management methodologies, specifically Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall / PRINCE2.
- Track record in successfully delivering projects to agreed controls.
- Self-motivator, problem solver with excellent communications and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised planning and time management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven leadership and effective decision-making capabilitie.
Desirable
- PRINCE2 Practitioner Project Management certification.
- Certification in Agile project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 Agile and/or SCRUM software development framework would be an advantage.
Location
This position will be based in Fitzwilliam 27, ESB’s new Head Office, Dublin.
ESB is committed to smart working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible ways of working. The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
Reporting To
The successful candidate will report to an ESB’s IT PMO Framework.

Salary
€59,000 - €70,100 per annum (depending on experience)
