Position Description

 

The Commercial Insurance Team are involved in all aspects of the design, negotiation, placement and maintenance of the Insurance Programmes providing cover for ESB Group activities worldwide. The successful candidate will be responsible for the total day-to-day management of a range of insurance and risk categories covering both ESB’s operational and project activities including areas of new business development. The role involves assisting the senior management team with all aspects of the work, whilst taking overall responsibility for the negotiation and placement of certain policies, in range of €0.2m to €1m in premium terms. The successful candidate will establish good working relationships with all ESB’s panel of leading international Insurers, Brokers, and the Management Team in all areas across ESB Group.

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provision of advice to all Business Lines within ESB in relation to Indemnity and Insurance clauses in commercial contracts entered into by ESB Group.

  • Maintain and develop good working relationships with ESB’s panel of leading international Insurers and Brokers and the Management teams in all areas within ESB Group.

  • Defining and delivering appropriate risk transfer clauses within contracts being negotiated by ESB for a range of activities – procurement of goods and services, solar and wind assets and other similar contracts.

  • Negotiation and placement of certain policies such as NIE’s Motor and Liability Programmes, Wind/Solar and similar policies.

  • Ongoing management of claims on certain policies including ESB Motor Policy.

  • Assisting the senior management team in the management of complex placements and claims.

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

Essential

 

  • A minimum of 5+  years work experience in a similar role.

  • Good analytical skills.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Good knowledge of policy wordings.

  • Strong numeric skills.

  • Good negotiation skills

  • In-depth knowledge of domestic and international Insurance markets and/or In-depth knowledge of all aspects of ESB’s operations

  • An insurance or risk management qualification, or a minimum of 5 years of relevant commercial experience.

 

 

Location 

 

This position will be based in ESB Head Office, 27 Fitzwilliam Street Lower, Dublin 2, D02 KT92, Ireland.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. Reporting To

 

 The successful candidate will report to a Senior Insurance Specialist on the Commercial Insurance team.

Salary 

 

€55,500 - €65,500 depending on experience
