As the Offshore Cable Package Manager, you will lead the Offshore Cable Package, supporting our project portfolio in the UK and Ireland markets through Development Rights Competition, Route to Market Auction and Consent. There is also potential within the role to also support the project portfolio more broadly providing strategic input into the overall delivery of the technical aspects of the projects.

 

 

Key Responsibilities 


 Responsibilities will cover many but not necessarily all of the items below. Within the project team, you lead and manage the scope of the cable package, which consist of: 

  • Lead the Offshore Cables related activities for offshore wind projects, at various stages of project maturity for both fixed and floating offshore wind farms; 
  • Provision of technical and commercial input into all aspects of the cables supply and installation contracts, including input on contract strategy, preparation of Employers Requirements, preparation of specification of technical documents including specification requirements for cable lay vessel(s) and all other ancillary subsea vehicles operations relating to subsea export and Inter-array cables;
  • Manage relationships with cables contractors, counterparties and other project stakeholders;
  • Manage the cable tender evaluation, contract negotiations, route engineering and provide technical support during cable installation; 
  • Provide support to business and functional contract owners, promoting a strong team culture and open and transparent communication within the project team;
  • Ensure that all cable related risks are continually assessed, reported and managed in line with the projects governance systems;
  • Identifying and managing the interfaces between the cable package and other packages  to ensure that the overall offshore wind development is successfully procured and delivered;

 


Experience and Qualifications 
 

Essential

  • Primary engineering level 8 degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Proven track record in delivering large-scale subsea cable projects from initiation to commercial close, with a commitment to safety, budget, quality, project program, and client satisfaction.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in subsea cable projects.
  • Strong commercial focus.
  • Experience in contract preparation and evaluation for vessels and subsea operations.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership of projects, and motivate team members to achieve objectives.
  • Clear planning and communication skills for progressing specific projects or new initiatives.
  • Proficiency in HSEQ Standards for offshore cable projects, including familiarity with CDMC/IMO/IMCA requirements.
  • Extensive experience in subsea cable laying, cable embedment, submersible vehicle operations, vessel positioning, and commercial diving.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in subsea surveys and engineering, including interpretation of geotechnical and geophysical reports

 

Desirable:

  • Chartered engineer.
  • Due diligence experience.
  • Understanding of key influencers of project business cases.
  • Experience with project management processes.

 


Location 
 
This role is based in either ESB E&MP Dublin/Cork offices but travel to project locations as required, is a key requirement of the role.

Salary


€83,000 to €98,000 per annum
