Position Description

ESB has a centralised Finance Operations organisation that provides a range of Finance services across ESB Group. The Order to Cash team resides within Finance Operations and is responsible for issuing invoices for various business units ensuring they are processed accurately and on time. Debtor management and cash allocation is also a key feature of this role.

 

This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of a large finance team. Key priorities for Finance Operations is the delivery of best practice finance processes and the continued development of staff. This role is a senior team member role and will be based with the Order to Cash team with a working relationship across Finance Operations and multiple business units across ESB.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor over 40 bank accounts daily, allocate cash to customer accounts, and ensure timely reconciliation of key customer accounts.
  • Liaise with business units and Finance Operations teams to manage cash allocation while maintaining strong relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Respond promptly to all queries, closing them out or escalating to the Order to Cash Manager as required.
  • Manage and coordinate team tasks, including oversight of the team mailbox, and review completed work for accuracy, ensuring all month-end activities are finalised.
  • Approve invoices and credit notes (within set limits) and handle complex issues, providing expertise and guidance to the team.
  • Maintain up-to-date Order to Cash and Intercompany process documentation, and support the manager with continuous improvement initiatives and project delivery, including monitoring monthly metrics.
  • Contribute to a strong governance and control framework within the Order to Cash function.

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience required
  • A good understanding of basic accounting and billing processes.
  • Highly motivated – be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team to deliver high quality of work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Extensive Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
  • Prior experience of working with SAP.
  • Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential .

 

Location 

This position will be based in ESB’s Head Office at Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.

Salary

€40,000 - €47,000 per annum (depending on experience)
