Organisation Development Strategy & Culture Manager
Applications are invited for the position of Culture & Organisation Development Strategy Manager. This is a Senior Management position in People & Sustainability, reporting to the Head of Organisation Development.
Position Description
We are seeking a dynamic, experienced Culture & Organisation Development Strategy Manager to lead out and shape the people change and cultural vision of ESB’s people strategy. This is a key role to enabling transformation across the organisation to deliver ESB’s ambitious Net Zero by 2024 strategy and connecting all of our people with ESB’s purpose, strategy, culture behaviours and our values.
The Culture & Organisation Development Strategy Manager will join our Organisation Development Centre of Excellence (COE) team. They will in particular work closely with the Business Unit HR Managers, Transformation Leads, other Centers Of Excellence, and with organisation leaders to envision the future culture of ESB in a Net Zero world. They will be instrumental in enabling cultural and organisational changes needed for sustained performance to achieve ESB’s purpose.
Key Responsibilities:
- Thought Leadership & Visioning - Engage with and influence key stakeholders internally and externally to bring together “thought leadership” organisation development insights and best practice with an understanding of ESB’s business transformation ambitions and challenges. Develop a vision of how the future values-led culture and organisation effectiveness of ESB can help drive ESB’s business transformation ambitions and challenges for Net Zero, ensuring a positive and connected people experience for employees.
- “Future of Work” - Bring insights on best practice and support leaders in visualising, evolving and embracing organisational changes driven by technological, economic and social changes. Anticipate and assess the viability and applicability of future work trends on ESB. Work with the Capability and Resourcing team to influence future capability development and hiring strategies to align with ESB’s Net Zero culture.
- Organisational Development – Assess current organisational structure, culture and practices to identify and implement relevant OD strategies that will support the transition to the future Net Zero model. Engage with People and business transformation leads to embed people and culture approach consistently across ESB.
- Cultural Transformation and Alignment – Create strategic insights on organisation culture and mindset, and their impact on performance. Continue to bring ESB’s values to life through activation of ESB’s culture behaviour framework. Engage with and facilitate key stakeholders to ensure an integrated approach to culture change across ESB that will enable improved employee experience and transformation to achieve Net Zero strategic goals. Ensure metrics in place to track progress on culture change and maturity at an organisation level.
- Change Management Strategy – Ensure a comprehensive and effective approach to change management in ESB to support the people and culture transformation required for ESB’s journey to Net Zero by 2040. This includes stakeholder management, communication strategies and cultural change initiatives aligned with the vision for a sustainable future. Collaborate with Employee Relations to define how ESB’s employee engagement model needs to evolve to support culture and organisation change.
Key Competencies and Skillsets
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Strategic Vision – ability to see the big picture and connect transformation efforts to long term organisational goals
- Expertise in Change Management – proficiency in change management methodologies and “know how” to bring about sustainable change.
- Analytical and Data driven approach – use of data to track the impacts of the transformation initiatives and leverage metrics to measure progress and refine approach as needed
- Influence and Relationship Building – skill at building relationships, trust and influencing (without authority) at all levels of the organisation.
- Capability to operate at Senior Management Team level, will be an effective team player possessing drive, agility, and resilience with the ability to problem solve
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a related role at senior/ senior middle manager level in a similar sized, complex organisation with multiple stakeholders
- Proven experience leading significant large-scale people/culture transformational programs and organisational change initiatives
- Bachelors degree (or higher) in Organisational Development, Human Resources, Business Administration, Organisation Psychology or related field or;
- Advanced studies in Organisation Development, Organisation psychology, Business Administration (MBA) or related field
- Professional affiliation with CIPD, SHRM or other similar professional organisation
Desirable
- Leadership / Executive Coaching skills (advantage)
- Research and analytical skills or certification (advantage)
- Evidence of continuous professional development (advantage)
- Project and Program management experience, familiarity with project management tools beneficial
- Familiarity with Sustainability and Future Workforce research, best practices and strategies a strong advantage
Location
The position is based in ESB Head Office, Dublin 2.
