Overhead Line Civil Engineer (Band 04)

Join our dedicated team within Engineering and Major Projects, Transmission and Distribution Delivery (TDD), where we provide specialist engineering services to our Networks businesses in the area of overhead line (OHL) transmission and distribution infrastructure projects. The team specialises in:
- Delivering designs on a wide range of Overhead line transmission projects.
- Developing overhead line standards, material design development and analysis.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on overhead line design, material specification, and project management within our Transmission and Distribution Delivery overhead line Design department, based in Dublin or Cork.
Experience and Qualifications
Working as part of this dynamic team, you will always have new challenges and problems to solve – teamwork is key. You will have the autonomy to tackle tasks and solve problems with support from your colleagues. We are looking for the following skills:
Essential
- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience in a design office
- A strong work ethic with a focus on delivering safety, timeliness, quality, and cost objectives
- Strong technical capability
- Driver's license and access to a car is essential
- Excellent communication skills
- Detailed knowledge and experience of safety principles in design
- Proven track record of project coordination to the highest technical standards
- Ability to work within a team structure
Desirable
- Experience in delivering work packages for the construction phase of projects
- Knowledge and experience of overhead lines materials
- Proficiency in overhead lines design software – PLS‑CADD, AutoCAD, Microstation, and Microsoft Project
- Experience in developing material specifications and materials tender assessments
- Knowledge and experience of ISO Quality systems
Location
This position will be based in ESB, One Dublin Airport Central, Dublin or Eastgate, Little Island, Cork.

Salary
€48,000 - €56,000 per annum
