Performance Specialist Asset Management
Position Description
ESB is looking for a Performance Specialist in Asset Management and Performance, Generation & Trading. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementation of standards of operations and maintenance practices that maximises portfolio performance.
The successful candidate will work closely with the business to ensure that operational and performance processes as well as business requirements are fully understood, practised and ultimately embedded in Asset Management, GT.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities will cover the items below:
- Analysis of data to identify factors influencing plant performance
- Monitor and report on station & portfolio targets achievable
- Monitor and reporting on commercially aligned long term plant performance targets
- Develop a strong understanding of DS3 services in ISEM;
- Analysing and reporting on DS3 I ancillary services performance across portfolio and understanding commercial impact
- Develop a strong understanding of GB market and ancillary services; National Grid ESO Interaction/Point of Contact; GB Pathfinder Projects
- Monitor and report on performance targets for each plant within Roi/NI and GB fleet (all Station Signals Targets)
- Prepare performance briefs for each location for L TAPs process
- Calculate and analyse unit specific start-up / running VOMs
- Interaction with Trading on day to day plant performance
- Investigate and report on RO & Frequency events in ISEM market
- Liaise with the Stations & IT on maintenance KPls and Maximo and CMMS+ applications
- Prepare plant and portfolio performance reports and present them to SMTs, Station Managers as well as others
- Liaise with all generation locations on any performance issues
- Effectively liaise with appropriate stakeholders such as Asset Performance management team, ESB Trading, Regulation and EMP
- Project development and support as required
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 5-7 years' relevant experience
- Significant knowledge and understanding of generation of electricity locations technical characteristics and commercial performance
- Knowledge and understanding of ISEM and GB Electricity Markets with a particular focus on ancillary services.
- Track record of achieving objectives and delivering value for the organisation
- Stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Use of large spreadsheets and data analysis
- Excellent communication skills
Desirable
- Experience in power plant, generation of electricity facilities, heavy industries - thermal and renewable - operations, maintenance and systems.
- Knowledge of data analytics processes & tools.
Qualifications
Essential
- 3rd Level Degree or equivalent work experience in Engineering or Business.
Location
Fitzwilliam 27 ESB Head Office, Dublin 2 in line with ESB's Smart Working arrangements. Travel will also be a feature of this role.

Salary
€54,500 - €64,000
