Planning & Reporting Specialist
The Planning and Reporting Specialist role is responsible for maintaining routine programme-level reporting, planning and coordination activities, ensuring accuracy and consistency of reporting data, adequate and timely resource planning, forecasting and work programming across the Networks Projects Portfolio.
In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure, and empowering customers, you will:
- Enable accurate, timely programme reporting and forecasting to support delivery of PR6 infrastructure investment
- Strengthen governance, data integrity, and performance oversight across the Networks Projects PR6 and PR7 portfolio
- Support efficient coordination across multiple delivery teams and workstreams, ensuring alignment and resource readiness
- Contribute to continuous improvement and optimisation of reporting and planning processes to enhance delivery outcomes
Key Responsibilities
- Routine programme coordination activities, ensuring dashboards, trackers, and reporting tools are accurate and up to date
- Ensure consistency, quality, and timeliness of programme-level data and reporting outputs
- Support project-level delivery assurance, coordinating with stakeholders to ensure resources and materials are available, including attendance and facilitation of work programme and resourcing meetings across the business.
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement across the programme
- Maintain department procedures, business continuity plans, and data governance standards
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Experience in planning, reporting, programme coordination, or data analysis
- Experience working in a complex project or infrastructure delivery environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, validate, and present programme data
- Proven ability to manage multiple data sources, trackers, and reporting tools
- Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience with programme governance, forecasting, and performance reporting frameworks
- Relevant degree or 5 years equivalent experience
Desirable
- Experience in utilities, energy, or large-scale infrastructure programmes
- Experience supporting resource planning and delivery assurance activities
- Experience in financial tracking, forecasting and cost monitoring at project and programme level.
- Knowledge of process improvement or continuous improvement methodologies
Location
This position will be based in Engineering and Major Projects Offices in the Sidings, Dublin 2, or Eastgate, Cork.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business

Salary
€60,000 to €70,000
