Platform Architect, IT Delivery
Position Description
We are looking for a Platform Architect to help transform ESB to a digital utility and deliver on our strategy of Net Zero 2040.
As part of the ESB organisation, our Architects are primarily involved in the selection and implementation of Digital & IT solutions to meet business requirements both now and into the future. Architects demonstrate a wide breadth of utility industry knowledge and IT architecture capability by understanding the impact of change on the full enterprise solution. They are responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity and supportability of all changes, be that large projects, products or smaller changes.
The Platform Architect will work closely with the various ESB business areas ensuring a consistent & best practice approach to Mobile architecture is applied across ESB and all its business units in order to enable ESB’s strategic ambition in a cost effective and responsive way.
The Platform Architect will be based within the Methods and Resourcing stream and be focused on ensuring the implementation of best practice and standards with regards to Mobile applications across ESB.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish best practices for Mobile development and work closely with all key stakeholders to create robust mobile solutions and libraries.
- Define the technical roadmap for mobile applications in collaboration with Architecture peers.
- Design scalable, secure and efficient Mobile applications.
- Responsible for the delivery of the high-level architecture for Mobile solutions
- Input & support cloud, infrastructure and security architects to design appropriate mobile solutions to meet non-functional requirements in compliance with overall enterprise principles, policies and standards
- Develop Mobile Architecture Design artefacts, Decision Papers & present to appropriate forums
- Contribute to Business, IT and Digital Strategies
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Third level qualification in an IT, Computing, Computer Science discipline or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 7 years’ relevant experience.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to communicate effectively in challenging situations.
- Excellent communications skills with proven ability to make communications happen.
- The ability to utilise architecture principles in designing solutions.
- Mobile Development skills: IOS, React, Swift
- Mobile Architecture patterns experience
Desirable
- A good understanding of Technology, Legal, Security, Regulatory & Data Protection principles.
- Knowledge of business continuity planning principles, information security and IT Security risk management.
- Demonstration of Continued Professional Development.
- Above all, you must a self-starter, be innovative in your approach and be able to demonstrate your ability to actively contribute to a team that delivers results.
- IASA CITA-F qualification or similar
- Knowledge, experience, or certification in TOGAF or similar Enterprise Architecture framework
- Scaled Agile
Location
This position will be based in Head Office, 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.
Reporting To
The successful candidate will report to one of Methods & Resources Managers.

Salary
€69,500 - €81,800
