Pricing Analyst
Position Description
This role provides the opportunity for the successful candidate to become part of the commercially focused Pricing and Trading area, specifically within the Business Pricing team. The role will involve creating prices for all business segments of the Electricity/Gas Markets. This will range from developing tariffs for small/medium businesses up to producing bespoke offers for the largest Gas/Electricity users in both ROI and NI. Analysts within this team have varied work opportunities available to them and need to be able to respond efficiently to requests from the business when they arise.
In this exciting role, analysts will experience the commercial end of the energy market, and should have good initiative, analytical skills and ability to think through problems and apply considered judgement. The successful candidate will have enthusiasm coupled with eagerness to learn and grow in the role, and ideas to help shape the team for the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for producing and validating prices and quotes for both small and large business customers.
- Delivering analysis for tariff price reviews in I&C and SME market sectors, building electricity and gas prices based on cost inputs and providing recommendations where necessary;
- Preparing of price and information for tenders/quotes for larger customers, and answering price related queries for both internal and external customers;
- Delivering quality and timely service to all relevant stakeholders ensuring a customer centric approach at all times.
- Analysing competitor’s offers in electricity and gas markets and using this analysis to provide insights into price composition/trends in the retail market.
- Providing Pricing input to support business cases for new products and services as required.
- Updating, developing, and improving the current price models to deliver innovative and competitive tariffs and offers for business customers.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
- 3rd Level degree or the equivalent analytical work experience.
- Ability to understand factors influencing price development, take initiative, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Excel and strong communication skills (written and verbal).
Desirable
- Knowledge of retail/wholesale energy markets and their impact on customer pricing, plus understanding of regulated pass-through charges.
- Qualifications in any software packages and databases used for building tariff and bespoke prices.
- Experience with modelling tools, VBA, and SQL Server, and previous experience as an energy analyst.
- Good knowledge of the wider utility industry and developments affecting Customer Solutions/ESB.
- Broad regulatory knowledge relating to ROI and NI.

Salary
€49,800 - €58,600 per annum, depending on experience.
