Join our dedicated team where we provide project management expertise with responsibility for project execution post receipt of Capital Approval through to asset handover to our Networks business.  The team specialises in;

  • Successful delivery of the programme of projects in their totality for the Networks Business
  • Applying a high level of safety standards in every aspect of the work
  • Management of contractors monitoring their progress including validation of progress payments

       

                

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Work with the Project Manager to successfully deliver project works applying a high level of safety standards in all aspects of work 
  • Contractor management – Develop and manage project programmes. Monitoring and managing contractors’ construction and commissioning schedules.  
  • Overall management of the tender process including preparation of documents, evaluation and negotiation. 
  • Construction Management 
  • Management of project interfaces such as procurement, design, free issue material, power cables, telecoms 
  • Coordination of project requirements into overall ESB / EirGrid outage schedules.  
  • Build relationships with relevant key stakeholders across ESB and in relevant external agencies  

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience 

 

Essential 

 

  • Seven or more years’ experience in the electricity industry.  
  • Proven ability to deliver on the “key responsibilities” outlined above.  
  • Experience of dealing with construction contractors to ensure that they deliver to specified requirements.  
  • Excellent knowledge of PSDP/CDMC and PSCS processes.  
  • The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.  
  • Excellent understanding of key elements of construction and project management.  
  • Self-starter with ability to manage own work and support others within project team.  
  • Hold a full driving license and have access to a car.  
  • Strong Safety awareness and competency 
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide 

 

Desirable 

 

  • Excellent understanding of key elements of High Voltage (HV) and/or Civil design  
  • Construction experience across a wide range of high voltage engineering projects, for example;  
  • Substations, Overhead Line and underground cables projects    
  • Strong knowledge of: HV Power Cables, Terminations, Trenching etc. 

 

 

Qualifications 

 

Essential 

 

  • Level 8 Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience is essential  

 

Desirable 

 

  • Project Management Qualification is desirable

 

 

Location 

 

Our offices are situated at One Dublin Airport Central or Eastgate Cork.

€65,000 - €76,000
