Join our dedicated team where we provide project development, construction, commissioning and handover of major projects to Network Assets and provide engineering services to Networks.
The team specialises in;
- project execution post receipt of Capital Approval through to asset handover to Networks.
- all aspects of the major projects/programmes they are tasked to deliver including energisation dates, resourcing, materials, quality, safety, commercial management and realisation of the business cases.
- providing assurance that contractors deliver on their contractual commitments and works in close partnership with Networks in the delivery of these major Projects.
- ensuring that there is a consistent and repeatable approach to major projects to ensure the best outcome for ESB.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage a team of supervisors and project Engineers to deliver a portfolio of major projects on behalf of ESB Networks, particularly in the HV underground cable and substation disciplines
- Provide regular updates and recommended actions to the Network Project Delivery Manager
- Management of the overall project deliverables for all stakeholders, coordinating inputs with the relevant internal and external stakeholders
- Lead the delivery of the projects with a multi-disciplinary team utilising ESB’s Project Management Methodology
- Maintain a relationship with Delivery Partners and manage Contractor performance
- Owning of key project deliverables during the project development and construction phases, in particular business case success measures including time (energization date), cost, scope & quality
- Transition the completed asset to the asset owner.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential
- A minimum of ten years’ relevant work experience including five years’ experience in project management/project delivery
- A strong understanding of HV underground cables and Substation construction and commissioning works
- A strong work ethic with a clear focus on delivery to ESB’s safety, time, quality and cost objectives
- The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication and report writing skills.
- A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service.
Desirable
- Experience in delivery of significant work programmes or project/contract delivery.
- Line/Team management experience
- Contractor and contract Management experience
Qualifications
Essential
- Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential
Desirable
- PSDP/PSCS Competency, or CDMC equivalent
- Substation & HV Cable construction management
- Project management qualification and/or other business management qualifications that may compliment the essential/desirable knowledge, skills and experience listed above.
Location
Your base will be at one of our offices situated at One Dublin Airport Central or Eastgate, Cork.

Salary
€83,000 to €98,000 per annum
