Join our dedicated team where we provide specialist Quantity Surveying, in the Design and Construction of High Voltage Transmission and Distribution Assets for the Networks Business.

 

The Quantity Surveyor role will cover all aspects of quantity surveying from project inception through to completion.  This includes cost, contract and commercial risk management for our full range of civil engineering projects, related to infrastructure development in the power industry. The role involves close liaison with other design professionals, our partners across ESB and contractors. A key requirement of this role is to enhance the visibility of the Quantity Surveying function across ESB, while maintaining standards, developing staff and enhancing stakeholder management.
 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Cost management function throughout all phases of a project
  • Preparation of Order of Magnitude Costs
  • Preparation of tender documentation
  • Liaison with Procurement and Project Delivery.
  • Tender assessment and evaluation
  • Post Contract Commercial Management and Cost Reporting
  • Promoting and playing an active role in the safety management culture across all activities by taking ownership and demonstrating visible commitment to safety.
  • Mentor and provide technical support to help in the development of junior staff.

We are looking for the following skills.

 

Essential:

  • Minimum Quantity Surveying experience of 5 years (Post Qualification)
  • Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects on time and to the highest professional standards.
  • The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • A strong ability to identify project work requirements and to initiate necessary work with limited oversight. 
  • Proven record of being results driven and customer oriented.
  • A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service
  • Strong knowledge of project Cost Control reporting and management including negotiation of variations and contractor claims. 
  • Experience of the administration of main conditions of contract. 
  • Ability to make quality decisions and judgements
  • A logical, yet imaginative approach to problem solving
  • Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure
  • A clear focus on delivery of high quality work
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Full drivers license valid for use in the Republic of Ireland, access to a car and flexibility to travel nationwide.

 

Desirable:

  • MRICS/MSCSI qualified, with Legal Registration under the Building Control Act 2007
  • Experience in the use of Cubit software would be advantageous.
  • Experience in Civil Engineering  / Utility projects would be advantageous.
  • Experience in FIDIC Conditions of Contract

 


Location
The postion will be based in our Dublin or Cork Office.

Salary
€57,000 to €68,000 per annum
