SAP Basis Team Member
Position Description
SAP Basis Team within IT Service Delivery, Enterprise Services are responsible for the build, delivery and support of all SAP Solutions for ESB Group. This includes support for the entire SAP landscape across multiple technologies including:
- SAP ISU (Utilities)
- SAP CRM (Customer Relationship Management)
- SAP BW (Business Warehouse), SAP BW/4 HANA
- SAP BO (Business Objects), SAP DS (Data Services)
- SAP S/4 HANA
- SAP SRM (Procurement)
- SAP PPM (Portfolio and Project Management)
- SAP Enterprise Portal
- SAP PO (Process Orchestration)
- SAP Solution Manager
Working within our SAP Service Delivery team, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team of IT Professionals working to achieve maximum value for our customers and all our IT investments across a range of technologies. This role will provide the opportunity to develop and enhance skills related to the above strategic SAP Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The main responsibilities include both Project and Support activities across ESB’s SAP landscape.
- Daily support of SAP landscape which consists of 100+ SAP Systems and a user base of 5000+.
- Develop relationships with key business stakeholders in support of ESB’s SAP landscape.
- Investigate and resolve support incidents raised by the business and support teams.
- Work on internal SAP projects and Change Requests as required.
- Support the testing of SAP Changes by analysing and resolving defects.
- Identify potential process improvements opportunities across the SAP landscape.
- Work closely with various teams across IT Delivery to deliver business requirements to the highest standards.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- 3+ years IT experience with a minimum of 1 year core experience working on a diverse range of SAP technologies.
- Database Administration on Linux/DB2, LINUX/Hana platforms – Database upgrades, Database patch deployment, performance optimisation and tuning.
- SAP Software Installations and Upgrades, application of Support Pack Stacks.
- SAP performance monitoring, optimisation and tuning.
- SAP Solution Manager – Early Watch Alert Reporting, Root Cause Analysis, Technical monitoring and alerting, ChaRM.
- Third level qualification in IT / Computing (or equivalent work experience).
- Above all, you must be innovative in your approach and be able to demonstrate your ability to actively contribute to a team that delivers results.
Desirable
- Knowledge and experience working on SAP Fiori, SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Cloud and hybrid environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Location
This position will be based in ESB Head Office, F27, Dublin 2.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€49,800 - €58,600 per annum (depending on experience)
