Position Description

IT Solutions, Business Services Centre, Electricity Supply Board (ESB) have a requirement for a Finance/IT Professional to work in a Functional Role in the SAP Competency Centre Support (SCC) Finance team. 

 

The SCC provides support for the Corporate SAP system for all ESB Business Units. This includes supporting HR and Finance processing across the organisation, and Asset & Work Management processes for ESB Networks.

 

Working within our support team, you will be part of a highly motivated and skilled team of IT Professionals working to achieve maximum value for our customers and all our IT investments across a range of technologies.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong SAP finance skills in General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Profit Centre Accounting or In-House Cash. The work will include supporting the current SAP S/4Hana implementation.

 

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:  

 

  • Provide end user support for the SAP ERP/S4Hana application in areas like General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Profit Centre Accounting, and In-House Cash.
  • Investigate and resolve support calls raised by business users.
  • Work on internal SAP projects and Change Requests as required.  
  • Investigate and resolve issues raised during testing.   
  • Liaise with a variety of stakeholders in the specification, development and testing of enhancements / modifications to the S4Hana solution.  
  • Identify potential process improvements opportunities across the landscape.  
  • Complete knowledge transfer for respective application area to members of support team.  

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • A minimum of 4+ years’ relevant experience in SAP ERP/S4Hana.
  • A third level degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Candidates must have hands on experience in the SAP FI modules.
  • An understanding of integration points between FI modules.
  • Possess strong communication skills for interaction with different stakeholders during the different phases of incident and change management.
  • Fluency in the English language is a key requirement.  
  • Above all, you must be innovative in your approach and be able to demonstrate your ability to actively contribute to a team that delivers results. 

Desirable

  • Hands on functional configuration experience would be highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Fiori Apps would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Charm would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Asset Accounting would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of SRM would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP Group Reporting would be an advantage.

 

Location

This position will be based in ESB Head Office, F27, Dublin 2.

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

 

Reporting To

This role will report to SAP Competency Centre Support (SCC) Finance Team Leader.

Salary

€49,800 - €58,600 per annum (depending on experience)
