Safety Advisor Generation & Trading
Position Description
ESB is a purpose led organisation committed to delivering a brighter, more sustainable future for our customers and the communities we serve. Central to our strategy is leading Ireland’s transition to reliable, affordable, low carbon energy. The Safety Advisor plays a vital role in enabling this mission—ensuring that our Generation & Trading (G&T) fleet operate safely, efficiently, and in line with the highest industry standards. By supporting outage programmes across G&T locations, you will help ensure that critical maintenance and project activities are delivered safely and that our plant returns to service reliably, contributing directly to ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonisation, resilient infrastructure, and operational excellence.
As part of the Generation Safety team, you will work across all areas of ESB Generation, providing expert safety guidance to operational sites and project teams. This is a diverse and impactful role that spans legislative compliance, safety assurance during outages, and the practical application of safety requirements in a complex industrial environment. Your work will help ensure that ESB continues to maintain strong safety performance while advancing major programmes aligned with the energy transition.
Success in this role requires independence, flexibility, and strong self‑motivation. You will engage with a wide range of stakeholders—from plant operators to project managers and senior leaders—so excellent communication and relationship‑building skills are essential.
